Additionally, Matador maintains active operations in South Texas's Eagle Ford shale play, as well as the Haynesville shale and Cotton Valley plays located in Northwest Louisiana. To support its core upstream activities, Matador also manages midstream operations. These services include natural gas processing, crude oil transportation, and the gathering of oil, natural gas, and produced water. Furthermore, the company extends produced water disposal and other gathering services to external clients. As of December 31, 2021, Matador Resources reported estimated total proved oil and natural gas reserves amounting to 323.4 million barrels of oil equivalent. This total was comprised of 181.3 million stock tank barrels of oil and 852.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas. Originally incorporated as Matador Holdco, Inc., the company officially adopted its current name, Matador Resources Company, in August 2011.
