Three filings from three unconnected buyers have landed on the same ticker this year, and the most recent one reached EDGAR on September 2. Vistra Corp. (VST) chief executive Jim Burke spent $1,173,069 buying his own company's stock in the last week of August, according to Form 4 filings reviewed by InsiderBuying.com.

Burke bought 2,000 shares at $135.00 on August 24, 2,200 shares at a weighted-average $135.99 on August 31, and 4,465 shares at $135.25 on September 1 — an average of $135.38 across seven trading days. All three purchases were made through JAMEB, LP, a partnership he owns jointly with his spouse, which now holds 1,146,352 shares. Counting stock held directly and in two family trusts, Burke's position comes to 1,242,301 shares.

They are also the only insider buying at the company all year. Vistra's other 28 Form 4s filed in 2026 are stock awards, shares withheld for taxes, or sales; six insiders sold between March and June, and none bought.

Thiel Macro, Peter Thiel's investment vehicle, disclosed the Vistra stake in the 13F it filed on August 14. The fund had reported no 13F holdings at all for the two previous quarters, and it had sold an earlier 208,747-share Vistra position in the third quarter of 2025 — the new stake is 79% larger than the one it exited. Six of the eight names it disclosed for the second quarter are electricity: Vistra, American Electric Power, DTE Energy, FirstEnergy, CMS Energy and the reactor developer X-Energy, alongside Amazon and Vista Energy.

Pelosi's position is the oldest of the three. She bought 50 Vistra call options at a $50 strike on January 14, 2025, disclosed in the $500,001 to $1,000,000 range, and exercised them on January 16 this year into 5,000 shares, reported on January 23 in the $100,001 to $250,000 band.

Why the power trade

Vistra sells the input the AI build-out is short of. In September 2025 it signed a 20-year agreement to supply up to 1,200 megawatts from its Comanche Peak nuclear plant in Texas, a contract later confirmed as an Amazon Web Services deal, with deliveries starting in late 2027 and full volume by 2032. In January it agreed to supply Meta with 2,609 megawatts from its nuclear fleet in Ohio and Pennsylvania — 2,176 megawatts of existing output from the Perry and Davis-Besse plants plus 433 megawatts of uprates — power that CNBC reported would run Meta's Prometheus supercluster in New Albany, Ohio.

The share price has not followed the contracts. Vistra closed at $144.22 on Thursday, down 10.6% year to date and 33.8% below its closing high of $217.92 from September 2025. It has risen 4.4% since Burke's last purchase on September 1, leaving him about 6.5% ahead on the three buys.
